Vegan Chili Garlic Oil Ramen Recipe

Ingredients
  

Ramen or Noodles

  • 3 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup green onion or scallion chopped
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder or chili flakes
  • salt as needed
  • 3 tbsp hot oil
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp rice vinegar or chili vinegar
  • water as required
  • ramen (or noodles)

To Finish

  • More chopped green onions
  • More sesame seeds
  • Chili garlic sauce or chili oil crisps for topping

Instructions
 

  • Heat a small pot with water over high heat. Once it boils, add ramen (or noodles). Cook according to the instructions on the package.

  • Drain water from the noodles and place the noodles in a bowl
  • In a large heat proof bowl, add minced garlic, chopped green onions, chilli powder (or chilli flakes), black pepper powder, white sesame seeds, and salt.

  • Heat oil in the pot over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes or until sizzling hot.
  • Turn off the heat then immediately pour the oil over the bowl. Enjoy the sizzle and mix well.
  • Add in the cooked noodles, soy sauce, and vinegar. Mix it into the hot oil mixture.

  • Finish with some chili oil/sauce, white sesame seeds, or chopped green onions, if desired.
