Masala Milk | Masala Doodh

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup cashew nuts
  • 2 tbsp pistachios
  • 4 nos cardamom pods
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/8 tsp saffron strands
  • 1/4 cup milk powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp nuts chopped

Instructions
 

  • Heat a pan over low heat, add almonds, cashew nuts, and pistachios. Roast for 3-5 minutes.

  • Next, add cardamom pods and nutmeg powder or a small piece of nutmeg. Roast it for a few seconds.

  • Transfer it to the grinding jar. Add milk powder, sugar, turmeric powder, and saffron strands. Grind it into a fine powder.

  • In a saucepan, heat the whole milk over medium heat. Bring it to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.

  • Add 3-4 tablespoons of prepared masala milk powder. Stir well to combine. Simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Next, add the chopped nuts to the milk.

  • Allow the masala milk to simmer for a few more minutes.
  • Pour the masala milk into serving cups or glasses. Garnish with a few strands of saffron if you like. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Do not over-roast the nuts and aromatic spices.
  • Grind the masala milk powder into a fine powder.
  • Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
