Green Coconut Chutney | Coriander Coconut Chutney

This Coconut Chutney is ready in under 15 minutes. It is easy-to-make yet flavorful and perfect companion for any South Indian Snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup coconut grated
  • 2-3 nos garlic cloves
  • 2-3 nos green chilies adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp roasted gram dal
  • small piece of tamarind
  • 1/8 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • water as required
Tempering
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 8-10 nos curry leaves

Equipment

  • 1 pan
  • 1 mixer grinder

Method
 

  1. In a blender, combine chopped coriander leaves, grated coconut, garlic cloves, green chilies, roasted gram dal, and a small piece of tamarind.

  2. Also, add the turmeric powder, salt, and sugar.

  3. Add water gradually and blend the ingredients into a smooth paste. Adjust the consistency as desired.

  4. Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Let them to splutter.

  5. Pour the tempering over the chutney and mix well.
  6. Your Green Coconut Chutney is ready to be served!
