Cilantro Mint Chutney Recipe

Cilantro Mint Chutney also known as the Indian Green Sauce that you get at all the Indian restaurants with an array of snacks and appetizers. A No-cook, Vibrant, and Herby Indian Condiment!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups  Cilantro leaves / Coriander leaves roughly chopped, (Dhaniya)
  • 1 cup Mint leaves
  • 2 nos Green Chilies
  • 1 inch Ginger roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp Lime / Lemon juice (or tamarind pulp)
  • 1/4 tsp Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required

Instructions
 

  • Start by thoroughly washing the cilantro and mint leaves. Remove any hard stems and discard them.
    2 cups  Cilantro leaves / Coriander leaves, 1 cup Mint leaves
  • Roughly chop the cilantro leaves and set them aside. Also, remove the stems from the mint leaves.
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the cilantro leaves, mint leaves, green chili, roughly chopped ginger, roasted cumin powder, salt, sugar, lime juice (or tamarind pulp), and water.
    2 nos Green Chilies, 1 inch Ginger, 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder, 1 tbsp Lime / Lemon juice, 1/4 tsp Sugar, Salt, Water
  • Blend the ingredients until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  • Taste the chutney and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  • Enjoy your homemade cilantro mint chutney with your favorite snacks, or appetizers.

Notes

  1. If you don't have lime juice, you can substitute it with tamarind pulp.
  2. Adjust the quantity of green chilies according to your spice preference.
