Badam Halwa with Almond Flour Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoon pure ghee
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoon chopped nuts
  • a pinch of saffron soaked in 1 tablespoon of warm milk

Instructions
 

  • Heat a pan or kadai on low flame. Add ghee to the kadai and let it melt.

  • After the ghee is melted, add almond flour to the kadai. Roast almond flour for 8-10 minutes till it gets a golden brown color. Make sure there are no lumps.

  • Next, add milk to the roasted almond flour. Be careful as it might splutter. Mix everything well. Keep stirring so that no lumps are formed.

  • Cook till all the milk is absorbed and the mixture becomes thick.
  • Now, add sugar and saffron soaked milk to the kadai. Mix everything well. Cook till the sugar is completely melted and the mixture is thickened. It will take around 5 minutes.
    1/4 cup brown sugar, a pinch of saffron
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well. Cook for 2 more minutes.
    1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Garnish with chopped nuts. You can serve the halwa as it is or make it into almond barfis.
